In April of 1979, the DCHS marching band took a trip to Washington, DC. They toured several Smithsonian museums, Arlington Cemetery, Lincoln and Washington Memorials, Mount Vernon and much more.
The band marched in the Cherry Blossom Festival parade, strutted their stuff in the field competition, and performed on the concert stage.

Brian Ralph and Ross Dalton at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. We all thought they would be arrested on Federal weapons charges after bringing their drum major guns to the cemetery. The guns were confiscated and returned to them as we left.

Brian Ralph, Joanna Martinez, Sherri Pfannensteil and Nancy Sowers did their "Mary Poppins" routine as they fed the birds.
